Consultation on the renewal process for the Public Spaces Protection Order in Whitwell Close

Closed 20 Aug 2020

Opened 30 Jul 2020

Following ongoing concerns with regards to crime and anti-social behaviour in the Whitwell Close alley, a Gating Order was granted for the alley in June 2010. Four gates were installed restricting the access at certain times of the year, as per the sealed order and map attached. We are proposing no changes to the restrictions.

New Anti-Social Behaviour legislation was introduced in 2014 and the Gating Order was automatically transferred to become a Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) in October 2017. The legislation requires a review of the PSPO to be carried out every three years.

Why we are consulting

We are now running a consultation to understand the effectiveness of this particular PSPO and to see if there is a continued need for the gates to remain in place.

We want to hear from residents and others whom this PSPO impacts so please complete our short survey. The closing date for the survey is 20 August 2020.
