Consultation on the renewal process for the Public Spaces Protection Order in Leyhill Drive

Closed 24 Aug 2020

Opened 3 Aug 2020

Following ongoing concerns with regards to crime and anti-social behaviour in the alleyway which runs between Leyhill Drive and the park in Farley Farm Road (opposite Homestead Way), a Gating Order was granted in June 2012. Gates were installed to close the alleyway at all times.

New Anti-Social Behaviour legislation was introduced in 2014 and the Gating Order was automatically transferred to become a Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) in October 2017. The legislation requires a review of the PSPO to be carried out every three years.

Why we are consulting

We are now running a consultation to understand the effectiveness of this particular PSPO and to see if there is a continued need for the gates to remain in place.

We want to hear from residents and other people who may be impacted by this PSPO, by filling out a short survey.

We have attached the map and current PSPO which is in place. We are proposing no changes to the restrictions.
